*What crime have I committed? Invoking a pact? A noble, elemental pact?* 

*I have been arrested and find myself imprisoned, my clothing stripped and my honor deeply insulted. When the city watch descended upon me in the elven conclave, I was utterly bewildered by their hostility. As they read the charges of 'unlawful genie magic' and 'allegiance to extraplanar entities,' I could only proclaim to the magistrate and his lackeys: Gentlemen, this is arcane tyranny manifest!*

*Were the dimensional shackles necessary? How dare they bind a servant of the noble courts! I demanded they unhand my sacred vessel, but alas, this is the guardsman who seized me by the pauldron, people.*

*When I braced myself against their unlawful detainment, one of their guardsmen stepped in with a rather aggressive restraining ward. I said to them: "Ah, yes. I see that you know your abjuration well. And you, sir—the captain of the watch—are you waiting to receive my glass blown lamp?"*

*They fear the elemental magic I wield. I am no threat to this city, yet they treat me as a monster despite over a century of service.*

*To what end?* 

*Well, I say ta-ta and farewell to justice in Almraiven! Zealotry, as ever, clouds the minds of the weak and fearful.*
